FIRE DISTRICT CONSULTING
"We solve the problems before they find them"

Dear Neighbor:

Thank you for visiting my website.  As you make your selection for Selden Fire Commissioner,  I ask you to keep in mind that the role of a Fire Commissioner is to provide fire and EMS service to the taxpayers of the Selden Fire District at a reasonable cost while operating under the constraints of local and state law.  As a hard working taxpayer and lifetime resident of the Selden Fire District, I understand the constraints of OUR finances and concerns about our taxes.

Being an ACTIVE member of the fire department for the past 25 years, responding to 300-400 alarms per year, holding Line Officer status for 10 of those years, an EMT for nearly 20 years, and riding as an Officer-In-Charge on a regular basis has given me a different perspective than a non-active member. I see  the needs of the department every day on the front line.  This committment to the residents of the Selden Fire District coupled with my acute business skills as a VP, Information Technology for a a privately-held, full-service hotel management and development company that owns and operates 14 boutique hotels in major urban markets in the U.S.  These skills including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, vendor negotiations, collective bargaining agreement management and contract negotiations and million dollar project management has allowed me to bring positive change to the Selden Fire District over the past 3 1/2 years.

In conjunction with my fellow Commissioners I make sure to purchase the best equipment  for a fair price so the fire department can get the job done. I have worked tirelessly to do this while maintaining the tax levy paid by you. I plan to continue in this positive direction if I am re-elected.

I am proud of all the improvements, upgrades and accomplishments that I have been a part of over the past 3 ½ years, which can be found on my accomplishments page.  I have done this WITHOUT RAISING TAXES.

If I am re-elected I will continue to be on the front lines answering your calls for help. I will also continue to make sure we have the training, equipment and resources we need to get the job done. All while maintaining our financial and legal obligations to you, the taxpayers of this district. Through our 5-Year Capital Plan we have many major initiatives in the works including an upgrade of the training center, completion of Station 2 (including a classroom, and a hands- on classroom), new ambulances, new first responders, REHAB vehicle, extension of the MDT program, E-PCR program, and replacement of Rescue 13. My determination to see all these exciting initiatives become reality is stronger than ever.  I hope you will give me the opportunity to continue to take the Selden Fire District in a positive direction.

Thank you again for your support and remember to VOTE on TUESDAY, December 11th, 2012 from 3pm to 9pm at Selden Fire Department Headquarters, located at 44 Woodmere Place.

The Selden Fire District has an open door policy at all meetings, and I am always available via email at excapte3@optonline.net to answer questions that you may have.

Sincerly yours,
